Approve/Reject Email
herald10
Hi,
I want the user to be able to either approve or reject just by clicking on a link emailed to him. How can this be achieved? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks a lot

If you are using 6.1, this is included in the OOTB solutions workflows. You can check those to see how it's done and consult the url commands chapter of the UICG for reference.
5.x had similar functionality with the cci url commands, but the syntax of some of them was different. Off the top of my head, I don't recall which manual contained information about url commands in 5.x.

Sorry I forgot to mention one point. I dont want the user to login to Teamsite. Let me rephrase my question. Is there a way for users to either approve or reject by clicking on a link in an email with out logging into Teamsite?
Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks a lot

They need to be authenticated into TeamSite
somehow
in order for the transition to occur. TeamSite needs session information in order to run with the permissions of that user. That session information can come from a cookie, which was generated by a prior successful login, or it can be generated by writing some code in CSSDK. But even
that
method is going to require the user's username and password.
If the user has logged into TeamSite recently (more recently than your session timeout value) then they shouldn't be forced to log in again. Unless you're trying to get users who are not valid TeamSite users to perform the approval/rejection. If that's what you're after, then I'm afraid you're out of luck.

You need to send the approver a link pointing to /iw-cc/transitiontask?taskid=$next, where $next is the taskid of the task which needs to be approved. Also the user who is getting this email and approving this task needs to have a valid teamsite id. In the iw.cfg file , under the [authentication] section, you can set ui_login_lifetime=infinite ,so that once the user logs to teamsite, he stays connected forever ,even if the browser window is closed. That way if he tries to approve through this link in the email, he need not again login to teamsite box. This method has its own advantages and disadvantages.
{please check the syntax of ui_login_lifetime from admin manual}.
