Notifying users of a group task

Annad

Hi,
Is there a way that we can notify the other users of a group task when one of the goupt member takes ownership of the task.

In my workflow, an email is sent to all the goup members to notify them of the task, however, the members should know when one of the member takes ownership of the task, so that they don't have to search the task list for their task.

I am not sure whether there is a signal in TeamSite that is triggered when a user takes ownership of the task??
Thanks.
Anna

It appears that the name of the event is TaskGroupTaken:

[Thu Nov 04 12:47:08 2004] SYSTEM master TaskGoActive Group Task Workflow 0x530e Group_Review 0x5316
[Thu Nov 04 12:47:28 2004] SYSTEM master ModifyEntity
[Thu Nov 04 12:47:33 2004] TWCCORP\v009272 master TaskGroupTaken Group Task Workflow 0x530e Group_Review 0x5316 TWCCORP\v009272

So you should be able to setup a trigger with iwat and get it to do what you want.

Hi,
I tried the following to register the event:

iwat TaskGroupTaken d:/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl d:/iw-home/local/custom/test.ipl

However when I do the iwlsat the list contains only "ID <some ID> TaskGroupTaken d:/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl" The actual perlscript is not there.

Is there something missing in the command??

Thanks.

Try putting double-quotes around the last two arguments ("..../iwperl .....ipl")

It worked!

Is there any way I can get a hold of job information from this when a group member takes ownership of the task.

Are the addresses (eg: 0x530e) the job or task object reference??

Anna

Dwayne

Those number are the Job id and task id, in hexidecimal.
