How to auto-load into Desksite 6.5?

Does anybody know if it's possible to programmatically load documents into Desksite 6.5? We are using a SQL Server 2000 back end. I am an MS Access developer and have poked around the internals of Desksite; there appears to be quite a few details involved.

If the answer is "Yes but you don't really want to go there" that's fine by me! This is a request out of the blue from a user who should probably considering loading the 150-odd documents thru the front end anyway. This question is essentially my attempt at performing due diligence.
