Is formAPI enabled in preview mode

Hi All,

I've noticed some weird behaviour with some DCTs. If a DCR is viewed in edit mode, all the formAPI (and other scripting) is enabled and certain UI elements are hidden. However, when the same DCR is viewed in preview mode, all UI elements become visiblie i.e. none of the intelligence has been used. I was curious whether formAPI is enabled in preview mode for a DCR..

I'd appreciate any insights

FormAPI is used during the Form Entry ... so how do you expect its logic to be applied during preview?

The key when thinking about view is that it is a READONLY view of the DCR.

how about the items that are set required, visible etc..
User's can't preview the page..
Is there a workaround??

You *could* use the proxy to intercept the call and parse/display the page yourself. Changing the proxy to prevent preview would nto be too tough, if you are afraid of someone viewing the XML to see something they should not, that is a reasonable option. Of course they *could* always download the XML and view it on their local system.

That would be very ugly and likely difficult. Can you just set the fields to hidden within the DCT instead of using the setVisable ?

I cannt directly make my DCT elements hidden at CDT level.. as i have to hide and show lot many items on some condition.

Please could you eloborate on how can i use the Proxy to solve this Preview Problem ????

You can open a Feature Request with Interwoven for enabling FormAPI during preview mode as well.

At present ... only workaround for the same is to make the item hidden within DCT.
