extract an external metaTagger file
Sid1
Hi,
I have the following scenario for which I need some help :
We have some external agents which are submitting contents, lets say mp3, and associated meta taggers to us in an xml file. To read this meta tagger file, and to process it such that we can tag it to each of the individual content in teamsite, we would need an exctrator.
Do you have some sample extractor files or a list of API to which I can use to create this extrator script?
Thanks!

Hi,
The answer to your question depends in part on which version of MetaTagger you are using. My guess is that you are using MT 4.0, so my answer will be geared towards that.
What I think you are saying is that you are getting XML files that have either references to binary documents (like mp3 files), or the text of documents, as well as metadata. You want to parse these files and send them to MetaTagger for tagging and you want to store all of the metadata in TeamSite.
You can write your own preprocessor to take apart the XML files. You can write a processor in any language that can be executed on the machine the mtserver is on. Perl would probably be the simplest. There are example processors in <MT-HOME>/examples/processors/CLT that you can look at. Make sure you copy the file runtime.cfg to $DB_HOME and edit it so that it points to the your instance of perl.exe or iwperl.exe.
