Within a day of each other, both my dev and production servers started throwing this error during the Tagging step of my workflows:
There was a problem with metadata capture configuration. Please contact your system administrator.
There has been no change to the configuration on either box. Since two different environments started having the problem at the same time, I'm somewhat suspicious that maybe it's a license expiration or something along those lines.
The last set of entries in the log file seems pretty unhelpful:
2 1100032058: Non-threaded version
2 1100032059: Attempting to load config 'D:\WebApps\Internal\Interwoven\MetaTagger\conf\mtserver_9095.dat'.
3 1100032059: Metatagger Server Started. Version: Interwoven MetaTagger 3.6.0 BN:25444
2 1100032059: Server Started
2 1100032059: Someone connected. fd(684)
2 1100097108: Someone connected. fd(676)
2 1100097108: Command: validate
2 1100097108: Command: get_full_config
2 1100097303: Someone connected. fd(676)
2 1100097303: Command: validate
2 1100097303: Command: get_full_config
Should I bump up the log-level, restart the services and retry or what?
