anomaly when deleting folders

If you delete a folder without first deleting its (previously submitted) files and submitting the deleted files, when you then list modified and submit the folder, well, it just never goes away, it is always visible as a 'ghost' modified file.

Go to staging and you will see the undeleted folder with its undeleted contents. This means that you can't just delete the folder, you have to first delete and submit ALL its contents, including subfolders and files, recursively. This can be an enormous pain if you have to delete a folder with an entire hierarchy within it.

Has anyone else seen this? Sounds like a case for Interwoven support.

I am dealing with is as we speak. I had some input on this in the other thread.

I find this as a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE issue.

in one branch the users were deleting files in 5.5.2, without bothering to unlock them.

it's been going for more than a year. now, since we moved to 6.1, retaining the backing store, it hit us BIG. I cannot simply see WHERE THE **** the files are locked, as they are not locked in stagin or the workarea, and yet I am getting the message that it's impossible to submit because the filea are locked in another workarea. And this is not in a workarea, but one of 500+ editions that we have....yes, in 6 the editions and staging do show locked files... even if they were deleted.....

I am resorting now to re-creating a branch, keeping the old one with its editions as an archive...

IWOV will see this more and more.... they better do something....

This will be fixed in Teamsite 6.5 SP1. In the mean time is might be possible to help you out without having to resort to rebuilding the entire branch.

Can you send me the the output of the following command.

$iwhome/httpd/iw-bin/iwbspeek -vpath vpath_to_branch $location_of_store (i.e /local/iw-store/default)
