iwidmap on Solaris
JackIntheBox
I have a question about iwidmap. We are in the process about converting our backing store from 5.0.2 to 5.5.2 (Solaris 2.8). We are going to be running both CVS and TeamSite on the new box - it already has been running CVS for a long time now. My problem is this:- Several users have accounts on CVS with different UID's and when the backing store was converted, all the TeamSite files they owned on the previous machine now have their UID's from the previous machine. Is there some way (using iwidmap or otherwise) so that the users can own both the old CVS files and the now converted TeamSite files under a common username/UID?
Many Thanks in advance.

My understanding of the way the system works is that under the covers, the file will actually have an invalid UID accociated with it(from the old machine).
However, when accessing it through the file system (or GUI), TeamSite uses the entity database to convert the invalid UID to whomever you specify using the iwidmap conversion tool.
Therefore, for all intents and purposes, file owned by userB on the old machine will now appear to be owned by userA on the new machine if you convert with iwidmap. If userA is also CVS userA, then the teamsite files and the CVS files will be owned by the same person.
