Folder sorting in WS web 8

I have a customer (1800 seats) that wants to be able to sort the display order of the folders according to their own workflow (i.e. not alpha numeric sorting).
Currently they can do this with DOCS via a web based view of a folder structure. This allows ordering by cutom fields.

The customer would like to be able to keep this functionality in WorkSite web . Currently we suggested adding letters (a), (b),..etc to the front of the folder name to sort them but their work flow uses a 1.0, 1.1 etc style ordering system. This number based system does not sort well though as 1.2 gets sorted before 1.10.

The other problem is that if a folder is added midway through a list the others would have to be manually incremented.

Is there a way to custom sort the list (if only in the web component) with out renaming the folders ?
