Perl 5.005.03 vs Perl 5.8.2

ijpn

Hello

From TeamSite 6.1, Perl version changed from 5.005.03 to Perl 5.8.2 .
Interwoven KB specifies the below link for what's new in Perl 5.8.2.
http://www.perldoc.com/perl5.8.2/pod/perldelta.html

Can any one have details about history of changes from Perl 5.005 to Perl 5.8.2
(With Respect to iwperl??)
Sorry in Advance for a vague request.

If you go tohttp://perldoc.com you'll see you can select a number of different versions of Perl to get documentation on. For each version selected, you can then go into the POD folder and find / read the perldelta POD for that release which discusses what changed in that release in comparison to its predecessor.

iwperl went directly from 5.005.03 to 5.8.2 (there were no intermediate versions released) - and in both cases it is essentially the general-released code plus additional CPAN modules plus additional Interwoven-specific modules plus the ability to relocate the binaries with regard to how you install TeamSite without requiring you to recompile the sources yourself (this last part may have been folded back into the generally available code-base).

Presumably (though I'm sure there are some exceptions), the Interwoven-specific modules were updated in accordance with the core & CPAN modules that were updated - as needed.

I doubt (unfortunately) that any of the Interwoven-specific modules were re-written except where they ran into changes resulting from the previous presumption.
