bypassing Required checking for ReadOnly items
cliffhanger
Hi,
Is there any easy way to bypass the "Required" field checking for "ReadOnly" itmes on "onSaveValid"?
Background to the issue I am trying to resolve:
Based on user login, in the DCT some fields are editable and some are not. There are required fields in both editable and non-editable section. "Poor" user can only edit the editable section, and after putting in all required data when she/he tries clicks "Finish" button, the templating mechanism asks to fill in the required fields without empathizing with her helplessness in filling out ReadOnly items. Because some required fields are not filled in, it also doesn't trigger onSaveValid.
I know I could painfully set each Required+ReadOnly items to setReadOnly(false), but was wondering if anyone has a better idea of handling that.
Thanks folks!!

This sounds like a FR (bug) that you should file with Support - as this kind of thing *should* be handled internally by templating / forms publisher (IMO)
However - if you want to get this working soon - you're going to have to go down the path you're already thinking about....
