TS 5.5.2 and MT 4

According to the docs these two cannot work together on the same server.

Is there a workaround/patch for this ? It is rather (IMHO) boneheaded. We really
want to use MT 4 functionality but upgrading to 6.X is not in the near future, nor is buying
another server.

Even if we did buy another server, I have a dev system to worry about, so I have to ask
management for 2 more servers. Yea, like that is gonna happen.

There are two reasons - the Metatagger extensions and the UI.

For TeamSite 5.5.2, we still had the MT TS Extensions install in MT3.5. In other words the supported combo is TS5.5.2 and MT3.5, and you have two possible setups: (1) two machine setup with MT3.5 installed on TS host and again on the MT host and (2) single machine setup where you install MT3.5 just on the TS host.

But the main reason is the UI. TeamSite 6.0 has its own metadata capture UI which MetaTagger leverages. Before TS 6, Metatagger has to provide this UI. For TeamSite 5.5.2, you would have to still have MT3.5.1 installed on the TS host to get the Tagger GUI and therefore could not put MT4.0 on top of that. Then you would have to use two machine config and install MT4.0 on separate MT host.
