nico
ts552 win2k trying to move our current install to a new box, will my existing license work in the cfg file on my new box or are they tied to a specific cpu(s)? How is this done?
Thanks,
Nico

It is tied to a specific hostid/NIC. Since you are moving servers you will need to regenerate your license. You can do that from the Interwoven support site.

Is there a cost to regenerating a license? and when it is done will the existing license cease to work? I need a brief overlap.

If you have a valid support contract - you can theoretically generate as many licenses as you want .... but if they notice you've generated a large number of licenses for which you are not covered via your sales contract - that could lead to an audit and other such activities.
In your case - you shouldn't need to worry. What you should do though, is after you've finished your upgrade and can decomission your previous server - notify Support of the changes (this serves several purposes - mostly for IWOV's benefit - allowing them to track which company's are running which versions of which products; but it will also pacify anyone who wants to understand why you generated a new license for a new server). If you really want to err on the side of caution - you can always contact Support ahead of time, to let the know what you are doing ... the advantage in that is that it may allow them to become more interactive (supportive?) of your upgrade efforts.
