Looks like a problem connecting to the specified port for listening. Have you verified that the port defined for deployments is not already in use by some other application? or perhaps you're going through a firewall and the port isn't open?

Also - do you have all the latest Sun/Java patches installed on your server?

Did you install OD as root ?
Is OD running as root ?
Did you have OD working earlier ? or this is a new install ?
What components of OD you have installed ? Reading between the lines from your original post it seems like you had only OD Receiver. But I notice a patch for Admin Svr.

The admin server is installed in one m/c ,and the receiver is installed in other machine.The both were running earlier and deployment was happening.But now when i try to deploy flat files from m/c that has admin server to the receiver m/c .This listener error is encountered in the receiver m/c and the deployment fails.

Did any of your machines in your network move / get renamed / have their IP addresses changed / go through new routes / go throuh new firewalls / go through firewalls that have been reconfigured ?

I take it you've tried just rebooting the Receiver - yes? Does that work at all (like for a while before failing again) or not at all?

It would probably help to see clean OD Receiver log files (i.e. stop OD Receiver, remove log files, reboot machine, encounter problem, capture log files) to help figure out what's happening.

This is a classic one you should open a case with our support. We need config files and machine information to try to recreate the problem to see if it's valid. Devnet will not be an efficient place for that.

We also had a similar problem with the same error...And problems turns out that someone accidentally stops the opendeploy service.... Smiley Sad
