update the DCR items in multiple branches

I require a solution for updating content of similar DCR's in multiple branches. i have a number of branches having exactly similar structure and templates.
The requirement is to enter data in a DCR in one of the branches and getting selected items of that DCR copied to other branches as well. I need a script for a batch update tool that automatically updates data in a number of teamsite branches.
Is there any solution developed or i have to code from the scratch.

If the DCR is the same name in each of the branches and the structure is exactly the same then you could try using the "Copy To Area" menu item. This will copy a file from its present location to the same location (within the Workarea) in another branch which you can pick.

Otherwise if that does not meet your needs I guess you'll have to code from scratch.

If Copy To Area works for you - you could code your own batch script using the iwupdate CLT as that's essentially what Copy To Area does (or, if you're so inclined, you could probably write a Java program using the CSSDK to do essentially the same thing too - Not sure what the method is, but it can't be toooooo difficult to figure out if you're cognizant with javadocs)
