TeamSite Editor Role
Annad
Hi,
I have few questions for the TeamSite Experts regarding the Editor role in TeamSite:
1) First of all, is this role one that the business side of the project would need. For example we have a business group that basically is between the TeamSite users and us as a trouble shooting team. However, they are not to handle all sorts of problem with content (e.g: revert back from history, checking staging, unlocking the files).
Basically what I am asking you is whether you wound consider giving this role to this business group as an option or a recommended way to go?
2) Is this how most of the organization that use TeamSite use this Editor Role.

In TeamSite terminology, the editor is usually the one who owns the workarea, and has responsibility for content approval, as well as maintenance tasks like unlocking files, performing 'get latest' operations, assigning jobs, etc.
In most organizations, some business users typically do need editor-level access. However, it sounds from your discription of this particular group that they're really acting as a tier 1 support layer; weeding out simple questions, and then passing on those that they can't handle to the people who will actually perform any required actions on the system. In that environment, I wouldn't think they'd need editor access.
I hope this helps.
