Adding a replicant instance with FormAPI
fiquebem
Someone mentioned that the "insert function" could be used to dynamically add a replicant. Pardon my naivete, but what's the "insert function"? Does is come with FormAPI? I don't see it in the FormAPI Developer's Guide (either Release 5.5.2 or 6.0) or on the Interwoven Support site. Is it a plain JavaScript function? I only saw something like document.body.appendChild when searching the 'net.
Could you please provide some sample code to add a replicant?
Thanks much!
S.

There is no FormAPi function to perform this. There is a straigt JavaScript function called top._dcWin.insert(). It takes a parameter of an instanceId.
You can find the instanceId of the replicant you are after by iterating through:
top.datacapture.itemArray
This is an array of items. you can match against the name property and use the id in the instanceID property.

PLEASE NOTE:
This is an unpublished function that Interwoven can change at will.
Current Project: TS 6.1
Environment: Solaris

I think 6.5 (formApi 1.1) has the function you want -- item.addInstance(). Page 44 in the FormAPI docs.
"Inserts a new replicant instance at index, with choice_name as an optional argument for "or" containers. Applies only to replicant containers."
