Hi All-

Quick question. I am passing some custom JavaScript in a wft. It is doing some auto-population of TAG_info elements. Problem is - I have some French characters that I am passing through, but I cannot get them to display propertly in drop-down boxes. I have tried everything. (even changing the encoding from utf-8 to iso-8859-1 in iwwft_instantiator.cgi

Any ideas?

I am passing a HTML entity - é to display é.
But all I get is "é" in the drop-down list on the TAG-_info screen.

How about &eacute; or the ASCII equivalent, either é or &#233;?

It just shows "literally" the value I am entering for the French value:

&&eacute etc..

There has to be a way around this one.

I agree that there has to be a way around this -- I wonder if you might need to escape the "&" in either &eacute; or &ecacute;

I just tried this in "regular" HTML, i.e. no Perl, no nothing. It works just fine, so if I were a betting man, which I am, I'd put my money on either escape characters or a double substitution (replacing the & in é for & to make it &eacute Smiley Wink

, or both.

used javascript to do the encoding and it worked well. don't have the exact code handy. will post it soon.
