branch_security, How about file_security?

Our business user is complaining about the number of dcr's that are showing up in her workarea. "If I don't have access to them then I don't want to see them!", she yells.

We have 1 Branch, 20 diff WA...1 WA for each country, but if she is a CC for country US she doesn't want to see other countries DCR's which are marked ready only to her and her group. products.CA.en.dcr [N/A]

I know we have
branch_security=on
workarea_security=on
in the iw.cfg but what about a
file_security=on

Question: Is there anything like this in version 6.5 which we plan on migrating to?
If not does anyone have a suggestion of how to handle this?

PS We were thinking about telling her to not click "Get latest" but that seems silly.

That's where branch/workarea design takes over. If you knew that your users were so irritated about seeing so many files before the branches and workareas were already established, then perhaps they should have been designed differently. If, on the other hand, she doesn't have anything better to do than to give you **** because of an issue like this, then I'm glad her life is so worry-free that she can give this so much energy.

Is she used to getting things exactly her way with the other applications she uses?

Perhaps the DCRs could be divided into sub-directories of 'data/' - and thus you could reduce the number of DCRs she sees in "her" directory?

I know it is pretty late, but why did you not use 20 different branches ?

Fish's idea of sub dirs is what we do here (with about 12K DCRs)

Trying to keep workareas on the same branch different by design is a very bad policy. One group tried it here and
crashed and burned. Conflicts everywhere.

Creating separate branches was not a consideration because of the current website architecture but now we are starting to revisit the idea.
