specify path & file in allowed hosts
Johnny
OD 6.0.1
Solaris 8
Is there any way to specify a full path filename inside the allowed host element of a receiver configuration?
The scenario is
Target Server A (OD receiver) is a shared application server hosting a number of separate applications for separate groups (apps 1, 2, 3).
OD Base Server B manages the deployment of files for app 1 only.
These apps share common directory location for configuration files (/etc)
Can we ensure that server B can only deploy /etc/app1.conf and nothing else.
I know this can all be managed in the OD profile which resides on the OD base, but this means server A is unable specify it's own security policies (at least to the file level).
I haven't actually tested this, but the manual seems to describe that the existing feature is for directories only (which is fine 99% of the time).

I don't think this will work. You might have to do something clever like have the specific sender deploy to a temporary directory, and then have an allowed DNR that runs to check whether this is an allowed file.

Thanks for the suggestion Todd,
perhaps it's an appropriate FR now that Control Hub is coming through.

I've attached this use case to an existing FR, # 39059, which requests regex support for allowed dirs (and now files).
