Hi,

I have a DCT and a tpl file associated to it.
When i try to preview the DCR, it gives me following error:

Template Preview And Generate Error:

Could not process template: /.iwmnt/default/main/sps/external/media_center/WORKAREA/workarea/templatedata/media_center/executive_bio_index/presentation/executive_bio_index.tpl
:/default/main/sps/external/media_center/WORKAREA/workarea/templatedata/media_center/executive_bio_index/presentation/executive_bio_index.tpl

I am working on Teamsite 5.5.2 and the partcular DCT and TPL code is working on development environment but not working on test environmnet.

All the files are available on their appropriate locations includinf templating.cfg. I dont understand what silly error i have done on test environment.

Could anyone of you tell me what can be the possible cause for this error. I want it real urgent !!

Well that error normally comes about when there is an issue with the TPL. Could there possibly be a path hardcoded into the template that is there on dev but not on test?

Just a shot in the dark for now.

Another possibility is permissions are different on either the PT or some directory leading to the PT on this server than they were on the other server

The only way to be sure is to use iwpt_compile.ipl with the -ocode paramete. It will create a script that should produce the same HTML output you would expect from a generate or provide you with more useful error messages on failure. http://devnet.interwoven.com/site.fcgi/techlib/001661

I tried using iwpt_compile.ipl.
It gives me error as
Attribute TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDocumentType not found
Attribute TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR not found

In tpl, i have used it as following:

$cmd = "$iwhome/bin/iwextattr -g \TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDocumentType\ \"$file_path\"";
$template_type = `$cmd`;
chomp($template_type);

$cmd = "$iwhome/bin/iwextattr -g \TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR\ \"$file_path\"";
$DCR_name = `$cmd`;

What setting would have changed because of which this is not working..

Hard to say if you don't give more information.

Post your PT and related stuff.
Put some debug statements and see whats the value of $file_path, $cmd, etc.
How are you invoking iwpt_compile.ipl ? what arguments are you passing to it ?
