OpenJobFile: Permission denied.
boskovuk
We have added a new user to the solaris machine and update all .uid files (the unix userid is added to all these).
The user is able to login and create (as per workflow) a product DCR. The next workflow step requires that the task ownership is taken:
This task is a group task. Click 'Take' to take ownership.
However, this new user fails to acquire the ownership - this is the returned error:
Unable to take task 152,010 - OpenJobFile: Permission denied.
Any ideas on what is causing this not to succeed?

The grouptask is shared by a group or a set of users ?
Is the user in question a member of the user(s) or group in the grouptask ?

What version of TS ? SP/Patch level ?
boskovuk
Yes, the task is shared by a set of users. Yes, the user in question is part of the grouptask.
This is the version - not sure how to determine the sp/patch level:
bash-2.05$ iwversion
iwserver: 6.1.0 Build 36267 Interwoven 20040610

Any of the other users in shared by are able to take the ownership ?
Are you able to take ownership from commandline ?
"OpenJobFile" is the name of your grouptask ?
What role is the user loggin in as ? Does it make a difference if the user logs in as different role(s) ?
KB #1813: Grouptask Does Not Let Anyone Take Ownership
might be helpful.
See a recent post by ghoti on how to determine SP level.

Strangely enough, other users (from the group) are able to take the ownership of the task in question.
On top of that, that new user fails in all other roles (even as Master user).
OpenJobFile is the name of the task - correct. I'll try to take the ownership from the command line (and will get back with info).

Can you post the WFT specification for that task?
Even better - can you post the job specification (i.e. the interpreted wft) code for that task?
and identify the userid in question which is having problems.

Problem is gone. We don't know what fixed it. Strange ...
Either way, these are two pieces of the WFT code. They look as expected.
WFT specification for the group task:
<grouptask name="OpenJobFile" description="Open Job File for CCMC Evaluation" readonly="f" start="t">
<areavpath v="/default/main/CCMC/WORKAREA/development" />
<successors>
<successorset description="Generate Acknowledgement Letter">
<succ v="GenerateAcknowledgement" />
</successorset>
</successors>

</sharedby>
<files>
<file path="/templatedata/CCMC/job/data/0117~Fiberglas Pink Home Insulation" comment="Attached File"/>
</files>
</grouptask>
Interpreted WFT code for this group task:
- <grouptask name="OpenJobFile" description="Open Job File for CCMC Evaluation" readonly="f" start="t">
<areavpath v="/default/main/CCMC/WORKAREA/development" />
- <successors>
