MediaBin User Control

Friends,
We are planning to create a intranet application for Downloading Asset’s from MediaBin and also need to monitor each user’s activities(audit Trial). There are around 2000 employees.
How can I control the users, should I need to use LDAP or create individual windows user id and allow them to access Mediabin?.
