extended attribute on workflow
Fariz
Hello,
How to apply extended attributes to workflow comments through an external tasks?
Do you have any perl script, that applies extented attributes ?
Can we have the file as extended attribute to a file? meaning can we attach a text file as a extened attribute to a html file or dcr?
Thanks,
Fariz

You
can't
apply extended attributes to
workflow comments
.
You
can
apply extended attributes to a file in TeamSite workarea. Workflow comments are not files in TeamSite.

apply which attributes ? to what ?
Applying extended attribute (to a file)
in general
is trivial. There are
well documented
commands and API for this. Check the documentation.

Based on little (compared to ghoti) I know about TeamSite it does not make sense to do what you are asking here. Perhaps you should explain what exactly you want to achieve by doing so.

Perhaps use an extended attribute on the HTML file to store the *path* to the text file - so it can be easily referenced --- within TeamSite -- or via a DB if you push your metadata to a DB -- but ultimately, as iwovGraduate points out -- it would help to understand exactly is hoped to be acheived by all this.

If you want to attach a file to another file in the extented attributes - I suggest that you create the external file and attach a reference to that file as the extended attribute. That gives you some flexibility, but at the same time limits you in others.
