Removing 'Search' from CCPro UI

Phil

I am trying to remove all of the search links in CCPro because we are not going to enable this feature when we upgrade to TS 6.5. I have found three but have only been able to successfully remove one of them. From a recent post by shanon, the following entry in ui_custom.xml removes the Search button from the heading bar:

<iwov-ui>
<heading id="iw.ccpro.filesys.heading">
<iwov-delete>

<link id="iw.ccpro.filesys_heading.search.link" />
</iwov-delete>
</heading>
</iwov-ui>

There are two more Search links remaining: One is a link in the Action dropdown menu and the other is a small icon on the upper right side. The Search links do not appear to be documented like the other links in ref_ccpro_ui_filesys.xml. I tried inserting the following xml snippet into ui_custom.xml but was unsuccessful.

<action-list id="iw.ccpro.filesys.menubar">
<menu id="iw.ccpro.action.menu">
<iwov-delete>
<link id="_iw.ccpro.advanced_search.link"/>
</iwov-delete>
</menu>
</action-list>

Does anyone know how to delete these remaining Search links?

Thanks,
Phil

ref_ccpro_ui_search.xml seems to have references to those places.

You're right. It does contain references. That's what I based my guess on in the second XML snippet. However this file seems incomplete. While the Search links are declared in the <globals> section they are not referenced in the <menu> section. This is unusual compared to the other links in CC Pro.

You will also notice that the Search button does not have a reference in ref_ccpro_ui_search.xml yet when I add <iwov-delete><link id="iw.ccpro.filesys_heading.search.link" /></iwov-delete> to ui_custom.xml it removes the Search button. Where is this link id documented?

My point is the Search links do not appear to be documented so I'm wondering if someone has figured out the syntax to delete these remaining links.

Thanks,
Phil

I found the link id used to remove the Search link from the Action menu. I still don't know how to remove the little search icon from the top right. I don't even know if this bar is customizable. If anyone knows how to reference this bar (see attachment) in ui_custom.xml please share.

Here is the what I have in ui_custom.xml to remove the two Search links in CC Pro

<iwov-ui>
 <action-list id="iw.ccpro.filesys.menubar">
  <menu id="iw.ccpro.action.menu">
   <iwov-delete>
    <link id="iw.ccpro.action_menu.search.link"/>
   </iwov-delete>
  </menu>
 </action-list>
 <heading id="iw.ccpro.filesys.heading">
  <iwov-delete>
   <link id="iw.ccpro.filesys_heading.search.link" />
  </iwov-delete>
 </heading>
</iwov-ui>

Phil,

I made a post back in December ('04) about removing search from CCPRO and CCSTD. Check it out.

Should be similar to what you've done.

Phil

gfaus,

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks very much!
