HI,

I want to restrict access to create/edit/delete for each data type to a particular group alone.

Templating,cfg allows to define the access rights for <user> or <role> in the <allowed> tag. But my requirement for a group.

Adding all memebers of the groups is not possible, in this scenario.

Please suggest a solution or atleast i would like to know if this is possible or not.

This is for Teamsite 5.5.2 on Solaris 8.

Use a process to generate the templating.cfg file that expands group entries into the list of users in those groups -- I think that's about the only work-around that exists right now.

Also - file a feature request with Support

You could also prevent users from creating/editing using FormAPI as well. They would still see the data type in the new form entry screen, but they would not be able to create or edit any dcr if they selected one they did not have access to.

Security in TeamSite is hard to manage the best way is to update the submit.cfg and create a group for each data type. I would not use the allowed tag as it is not flexible.

For example

You have one category called 'interwoven and three types 'money, 'quality' and 'product'.

You create three OS groups called 'iw-s-iwov-money','iw-s-iwov-quality' and 'iw-s-iwov-product'

Now update the <iw-home>/local/config/submit.cfg so there is a match for wach DCT type and sets the appopriate permission.

Now create a test script that at the start executes iwreset so the submit.cfg is re-read.

In the test script use the CLT iwtestcfg <full vpath the DCR> to test eacg DCR type.
