Am running Teamsite 552 on Solaris, Datadeploy 5.6, Oracel 8714

I am executing the iwdd.ipl from within a workflow as an external task to delete a dcr and it does not delete. No error . Shows successful deployment.

Are you sure the command run by externaltask and run by you are exactly the *same* (including all parameters, filelist-if any, etc.)?

Post the complete log (not just the summary at the end) of both ways you run it along with the exact command you are running.

Is it possible that you are invoking the deployment from the workflow *before* /opt/product/iw-home/custom/bin/helios/od_log/20050310113941_files_toDelete.lst has any list of files in it ? Maybe you want to carefully verify that.

Its hard for me to say without looking at your code.

To add to Samir's thoughts ...

There's an old problem that a number of folks have run into in the past where they forget to close the filehandle on the filelist before invoking the command that's supposed to process that filelist - something like:

if (open(OUT, ">$fname)){
    print OUT @flist;
} 
my $foo = `$cmd $fname`;

Perhaps you're doing something like this in the externaltask script? - i.e forgetting to put the close(OUT); before the last line shown above [preferably within the braces of the open() call]
