TS Search: FieldMapping

Is there a way in the FieldMapping file to specify Fields to be searchable by branch? Currently we are planning on making search available in multiple branches. However, each branch has it's own unique set of Extended Attributes and templates. I would like to make these unique attributes only visible within their corresponding branch. Has anyone done this? Is this possible or is the FieldMapping not capable of this?
