want to report on TS Search results

Now that we have TeamSite search running on some of our servers, the users are asking for a way to generate a report summing up their search results instead of just browsing through them 50 at a time. Is this search results report something that the users would be able to generate themselves if we use the TeamSite reporting feature? Has anyone used the optional reporting feature that can attest to its reliability and usefulness? Thanks in advance for any advice, info, suggestions, etc.

With the CSSDK API for Search in 6.5 SP1 due to be released later this month, you could build a custom GUI that displays all the results at once. However, you should be cautious about long running searches if the user does not constrain the search criteria sufficiently.

On a more fundamental level - do you really think that the search query is effective if the result set contains 100s of assets. How does the user intend to really find what they want even if you were to display all the results at once.

To answer your question about using ReportCenter - you could potentially use it to generate a report of assets, but you won't get the advanced search features including parametric search for EAs, DCR fields etc. It is extremely difficult to effecively solve a search use case with a reporting solution.
