It's OK, i got it. Then i am trying to get cmsSession object

Session cmsSession = appSession.getCmsSession();

and i always got exception:

Details: One or more CMS server resources are not available. See previous logs for additional error and warning messages.

CMS is OK. It's running and i can access worksitemp by browser (if CMS was dead i wasn't able just to login to my workspace as i understand).
Error coming from my connector, content.jsp. This is what i have there:

<%@ page import="java.util.*,org.apache.log4j.*,com.imanage.workteam.appservices.session.*,com.imanage.cms.api.workteam.*" %>
...
AppSession appSession = (AppSession)request.getAttribute("appSession");
if (appSession != null) {
log.warn("appSession != null");
session.setAttribute("appSession",appSession);
Session cmsSession = appSession.getCmsSession(); <<< Here i got this exception
if (cmsSession != null) session.setAttribute("cmsSession",cmsSession);
else log.warn("cmsSession == null");

}
else {
log.warn("appSession == null");
}
...

I want to note, i have worksitemp web components on my own computer and worksite cluster on different one. May be this is the reason, i will check it out.

Does somebody know where can i get documentation for this API in this package?

com.imanage.workteam.appservices.*

I have WOM developer guide and connector guide, there is no any API about above package there.

peter_choe

There are no documentation for this package. I have been looking for one myself.

Yes, looks like this.
And this forum not so popular here as well, no real support. Dosn't look like a lot of developers have deal with this stuff or something.

By the way i was OK to create MVC model now, it works. I use my own controller to process requests, so i don't care about adding
every actions inside of connector by UI. I have connector.jsp and it plays roles as point of input and output and that's it. Below is
example:
...
if (request.getSession(false) != null ) {
log.warn("session not null ...");
String contentPage = (String) session.getAttribute("contentPage");
log.warn("contentPage:"+contentPage);
%><jsp:include page="<%=contentPage%>" flush="true" /><%
}
else {
log.error(" Session == null).");
out.println("<font color=red><center><b>There was error during processing this content! Please, consult your administrator.</b></center></font>");
}

So all real output inside of my own jsp page and here i pick name of presentation jsp file from session.
My controller takes requests (based on my extension of mapping template in their web.xml), then redirect to Java action class, then takes back presentation file name, save this name in session (name coming from my router and depends of action), and ALWAYS redirect again to connector.jsp (based on value inside <w:hiddenField name="returnUrl" value="${thisUrlValue}"/>). All actions in real Java classes.

I think this is good from performance point of view as soon as don't use their XSLT processing and i don't use frames as well.
Deployment also is easy, jar + content.jsp+2 lines in web.xml.

We're still building the community for WorkSite MP. The TeamSite forums have been in existence for over 2 years, so there has been a lot more time for it to developer.

As the moderator for this forum I do forward posts to the engineering team as they come in.

The post count for this forum has increased dramatically in just the past month, as people find out about it. There are over 70 posts this month alone; a huge increase from previous months.

I'll get someone to look at your question.

Lissa, thank you for answer.
I understood this, if we just started to maintain this community this is fine.

In real i have solved most of the problems by myself. The only serious problem i have right now is "CMS session" issue.
There is no problem to connect to CMS and get session from my java classes at all. But my connector is WEB application
that going to be hosted as WorkSite MP web component. It means my application has to work in context of worksite mp
web component. So i don't need to create my own session with cms server but have to use (somehow) "cms session"
coming from my container application (in this case worksitemp web components) because in this case i don't worry
user credentials, security and all other stuff like this. This is how i understand this. But may be i am wrong. May be i can not
use this session but instead of this can pick up user credentials, for example, and then use them. This is fine as well.
My problem i have no documentation and clear rules, so as soon as i got error while attemp to access cms session, i have no
idea what to do.
So, hope for some advices and clarification here.
Thanks.

I apologize for the delay in responding to this post.

AppSession.getCmsSession() would give you a valid object only if you go through main web application's controller (/dispatch etc). An ideal place to insert such JSP pages is connectors.

If you write a jsp outside the webapp framework, please call appSession.connect() to initiate the cms session. This is requred because a unique cms session is obtained for each page request. (No, it is not performance issue, we make server round trips for authentication only once per http session, ie; when the user logs in, successive requests are authenticated against a trustee cache updated by different threads). The caveat in this approach is that you need to close the cms session before you finish the page. A try finally block around appSession/cmsSession usage will be required to ensure this. But using a finally block is not good in a JSP page with a lot of scriptlets, so it is always recommended to go with the main web app MVC framework.

Please see the attached files for examples.

thanks a lot, it seems it works now!
