Can't find WFtask
rblaust
We are using TeamSite 5.5 on Solaris and when I try to run /iw-home/bin/iwsend_mail.ipl from the command line I get a message that it can't find WFtask. It is looking for it in /usr/... instead of /iw-home/iw-perl/... Where is this configured? The shebang line for iwsend_mail is
#!/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl
Thanks
Randy

Was this ever working for you ?
Can you post the exact error you are getting ?
What do you have in your
@INC
?
What if you try running /iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /iw-home/bin/iwsend_mail.ipl instead ?
Did you ever modify the iwsend_mail.ipl file or is it as shipped with TS ?

Do you understand that iwsend_mail.ipl is meant to be run as an externaltask via a workflow? and that as such it is expecting certain command line arguments to be passed into it (jobid and taskid at the bare minimum, possibly followed by the areavpath and the list of area-relative file paths associated with the task).

Yes...I was investigating why the workflow was not generating emails. The user stated they were not getting any error messages but neither were they getting their email notifications. When I ran it via commandline I did give it parameters. It complained specifically about not being able to find WFtask on line 44. Line 44 of iwsend_mail.ipl is
use TeamSite::WFtask;

This is TeamSite 5.5.?? (5.5.0, 5.5.1, 5.5.2 -- service packs?)
How are you running it from the command line? Please show the exact command you typed (including or excluding the shell prompt)
Please show the output of
iwperl -V
Please show the output of
iwperl -MTeamSite::WFtask -le 'print $INC{"TeamSite/WFtask.pm"};'
Please show the output of
iwgetwfobj
We'll start with that and see where we get...

I was able to make iwsendmail work by creating a link as follows:
/usr/perl/WFtask.pm -> /iw-home/iw-perl/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/TeamSite/WFtask.pm
This is not my preferred approach but...
I have attached the output you asked for in a file called iwsendmail_diag.txt
Thanks

The one thing you didn't show in your attached file was "exactly how you are running the command from the command line"
The link you made makes absolutely no sense - for one thing the symlink would probably belong somewhere under something like /usr/perl/site_perl/
Secondly, and more importantly, it shouldn't be needed at all.
If you run the iwsend_mail.ipl script directrly from IWHOME/bin or you preface it with: iwperl
it should find everything it needs without any symlink.
It *sounds* like you did something like: /usr/bin/perl iwsend_mail.ipl ...
and thus used the *wrong* version of perl to process the script.
If running the script directly from the IWHOME/bin directory gives you the error message you've seen - try prefacing it with 'iwperl'.
If that works - check the #! line at the beginning of iwsend_mail.ipl because it sounds like it's set incorrectly.
If that doesn't work - I don't know what's going on, but you might want to contact Support.
