Java patches needed for Solaris 9 to install OD5.6 ?

Hi,

I will be installing OpenDeploy 5.6 SP1,

Are there any patches needed at OS level before OD installation? or any thing else I might be missing.

The OS is Solaris 9 & we are running JDK 1.4 there. Is there anything else needed?
I was unable to find any specific information on this anywhere in documentation or thread.

The TS is running on Solaris 5.8, TS552, with OD 5.6SP1

I believe the manual (installation? admin? release notes?) indicate that you should have the latest comprehensive patch installed on the OS first.

Yes I know that. but nothing for Solaris 9 specifically mentioned. The KB article 49656 just mentions about 6/7/8. Was just curious if it is needed V9.

Hmm - not sure - I'm using OD 6.0.1 - which might explain the difference.

The support site lists Solaris 9 as being supported on OD6 SP1;

But the JRE is not listed there. Did you check the release notes for SP1? I don't have time to do that now.

I know OD5.6SP1 supports Solaris 9 & that compatibility matrix link. Actually installation pdf does say

I guess only the patches related to Java are to be installed? Can someboyd confirm URL below for me,

Just want to make sure I am not **** up the already configured machine.

OD 5.6 was more sensitive to Java problems on Solaris than OD 5.5.1, which is why that statement is in the doc.

If you have the latest Java fixes for Solaris installed, you should be ok.

Perhaps someone who is a Solaris user can confirm the URL?...
