Generate button - teamsite 5.5.2

HI,

Im working with Teamsite 5.5.2 on Solaris. I need to auto-generate pages with the names of file depending on some dcr values.

So im not able to remove the generate button, as this version does not support it. I want to make it like as if the user enters some name, then can i change the ofile value to the preffered value.

Is this possible. Do let me know if anyone has faced this situation

Well!! it shudn't be a problem. You can assign the desired value for generated file in ur presentation templates (tpl).

eg.

Note: iw_ostream will NOT set the basic TeamSite Templating EAs on the generated files - so you will have to do that as well.
Also note - you can use FormAPI in 5.5.2 to trap and prevent users from using the default OOTB Preview and/or Generate buttons on the DCT form as well as removing the OOTB menu items for the same functions if so desired. We do this with my customer in which the entire process is workflow driven and the users are not provided the ability to create new DCRs or generate pages from new or existing DCRs without going through a workflow - and the workflow handles the logic for all generated page naming based on the name of the DCR, the "type" of DCR, and the number of pages being generated from that DCR.
It's a matter of design first, implementation second.

you CAN remove the generate button, using Form API.

a script was posted a while ago, it does what you want. I am not it's author, but if you want, I can mail it to you

Yeah i need to set up some EA also for the file generated & io_stream does not help.

you can set up EAs from a TPL.. this is a standard procedure for most of us who used iw_ostream
