Teamsite Performance
pranav
Hi,
Which configuration files in teamsite afftect the performance? Is it true that if i increase the number of users in role files(Doesn't matter whether they all are accessing teamsite at the same time) will affect the teamsite performance.
Your help will be deeply appreciated.

Performance tuning depends on many things, not the least of which is what version you're using and which platform you're on -- which you did not disclose.
There are a number of articles about this on the support site. Look there, as it probably has what you're looking for.

In general, the number of entries in a role file has little bearing on the overall performance. Most performance characterstics hinge on either the total number of concurrent users; what they are doing, and in the case of FormsPublisher; the size and number of entries in the DCR.
THer are other variables too, these are the ones that come to mind to start. If you have specific scenarios in mind, it would help to spell them out. As Dave says below; be sure you let us know what version of TeamSIte, as your mileage may vary.

I have had some issues with performance too .. We are using teamsite 5.5.2 on windows 2 K service patch 6 -Specifically transfering xml files
We have got support involved in this but they have not come up with a satisfactory answer . Blaming Network connectivity doesn't cut mustard .
Any hints on how to improve/Monitor performace with respect to speed of using File transfer or to improve gui performance will be appreciated
A specific example : when user selects file->submit - the submit GUi form takes a long time to show up - almost 10 seconds . Its been way faster before
Thanks

How many different types of workflow do you have defined? Also, how many tasks do you have that are part of a workflow with at least one active task?
I realize that was a weird question, so...
If you have a workflow with 15 tasks but only one of them is active, the answer to the above question would be "15".
How many concurrent users do you have during this slow period? Also, is this a consistent thing right now or is it more intermittent? If consistent, how long has it been this way?

The "submit GUI" that takes 10 seconds -
Is this the screen where you select the workflow (if you have more than one configured for that branch/user/role/event/etc) ?
Or is this the workflow instantiation screen ?
