install_webapps & make_toolkit

Hi everybody. Anyone can tell me the differences between install_webapps and make_toolkit.??

Until the moment only I know(if I am right) is that install_webapps compile the whole application even TeamSite and make_toolkit only the customizations and only the modified parts in the customizations instead of everything.

I am trying to use make_toolkit instead of install_webapps but it fails.

Please help!!

Straight from the manual...

Thanks dave! I read that time ago but why if I use /iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /opt/iw-home/install/install_webapps.ipl -i -f works ok and if I try

/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /opt/iw-home/bin/make_toolkit.ipl dont.??

Theorically it has to do the same.

Can you provide more information on "it don't work" ?
Does it not run ? hangs ? core dumps ? gives errors ? what are the errors ?

what directory are you running it from ?

Yeah, sorry. I had to give more information.

I execute

/opt/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /opt/iw-home/install/install_webapps.ipl -i -f

This line (above) works.

If I execute the following

/opt/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /opt/iw-home/bin/make_toolkit.ipl

compilation gives execeptions like:

package org.apache.xpath does not exist [javac] import
org.apache.xpath.*;
[javac] ^
[javac]

What directory are you in when you run make_toolkit.ipl ?

You're supposed to be in IWHOME/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src -- or you need to supply that path as a command line argument with the '-src' flag.

Take a look at the output of make_toolkit.ipl -h for some additional information about its arguments - compare / contrast with those of install_webapps.ipl
