Installation - required storage for iw-home
h_b
we want to Update Teamsite-Installation on Test-System from version 6.1 to version 6.5 for Solaris.
concerning required storage for 6.5 we found in document ts.650.install.unix.pdf, page 9
that new Installation of Teamsite 6.5
needs permanent 3.1 GB Storage,
and
Upgrade needs permanent 1.6 GB storage
How do we have to interpret the second value? do we have to add it to the current installation (it has 1.5 GB storage)
or do we need half of the storage if we do an Upgrade?
PS: What size is your iw-home-directory after installing Teamsite6.5?
thanx,
Hilda Beyer

Just looking at what you typed --
(it has 1.5 GB storage)
Upgrade needs permanent 1.6 GB storage
new installation needs permanent 3.1 GB storage
I'd say you should interpret it as meaning that if you have 1.5 GB allocated to 6.1 - you will need to allocate an additional 1.6 GB in order to upgrade to 6.5 -- the total of 1.5 + 1.6 = 3.1 which is the same amount of space you'd need if you were doing a fresh installation of 6.5.
I could be wrong - but that certainly seems like the most likely explanation.

thank you for answering.
unfortunately we could not verify it while installing today,
because we didn't manage to finish installation due to disk-space-warning concerning iwinstall-directory.
(there was an iwinstall directory left from 6.1-Installation...)
we expected that the big amount of data would be put into iw-home...
