6.5 SP1 Question

DavidMusser

Has anyone installed SP1 on Windows... I just tried and had and get the following error:

Searching for module installer ==>

\Software\Interwoven65\TeamSiteSP\InstallerData\modules\ant\Windows\ant.exe <== not found
Searching for module installer ==>

\Software\Interwoven65\TeamSiteSP\InstallerData\modules\ant\Disk1\InstData\NoVM\\ant.exe <== not found

I'm downloading the SP again in case it's corrupt.

Hi David-

I am contemplating an TS 6.5 SP1 install. Have you been able to get your box up and running? Also, are you using the TeamSite search feature?

Thx,

I have SP1 installed successfully on Windows 2003 server two days ago. When I have TeamSite 6.5 and Search both running on the same server.

However, when I tried to apply SP1 for search on a server where there is no TeamSIte installed and only have the Search component installed, it failed with error

iwgethome error=2

Can you imagine that? IWOV recommended to install the search component on a separate machine, yet SP1 fail in this case.

DavidMusser

I'm trying again. I think mine was a corrupt download... it had the zip extension but I don't think all the files were there... ant.exe was missing... wierd... I have both search and ts on the same server.

I will let you know if it works. I am in the process now and have got further than I did the first time so it looks like it will work for the install anyway... We will see after the reboot :-)

Hi Jane -

I had the same problem with the search service pack. We are in a Windows 2003 environment also.

BTW, I was able to get TS SP1 installed on our 6.5 instance successfully (w/o any hitches). New CCSDK functionality for Search looks good!! Also, an updated Advanced Search UI, but still needs improvement.

Maybe Interwoven can chime in on this one (why Search SP1 is failing) ...

Thanks,

I have a case open with IWOV support and they said it is definitely a bug. Now it's just how soon they can fix it.

nipper

Glad I am on Unix.

Waiting for IT to restart the server, upgrade went without a hitch.

Ya, I would appreciate the update as I am weighing whether or not to do the upgrade this weekend.

Has anyone tried TS 6.5 SP1 with Search on Windows 2000 environment?

from the release notes:

To ensure that these enhancements are migrated to your existing version of toolkits.xml,
located in iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center, merge any customizations
previously made by you to toolkits.xml (typically, there will be none, unless you have the
customer_samples toolkit enabled) into the toolkits.xml.example file delivered with
this service pack (you can use diff or any file comparison utility to determine any
differences).

Did anyone see this .example file?
I don't have it in my installation iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center

I'm guessing it's because we haven't made changes, but I just want to double check.
I wasn't too sure after reading the documentation.

I have not seen this example file, either. The UI compiled fine without it and I'm not using other locales for now. So, I'm just considering it a April Fool's Day Joke from Interwoven.

Adam Stoller

I didn't see the examples file - and I noted the date on the toolkits.xml file as being current - so I assumed it overwrote it despite the documentation - which didn't bother me too much because I never modified it.

We've discovered a problem with the installer for TeamSite Search 6.5 Service Pack 1. A fix will be available next week. In the meantime, we have released a workaround and made information available about it in KB 54052.

I do not have the .example either... also there is a documentation bug as well... I'm sure everyone knows this, but just in case...

----When you do this step: --- Rename toolkits.xml to toolkits.xml.old. Then, rename toolkits.xml.example to
toolkits.xml.

Or When you skip it cause there is no .example, and then when you do this step...

After updating toolkits.xml appropriately, issue
iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl iw-home/bin/make_toolkit.ipl.

All worked, it would have been nice if the ports were already in the search file, but oh well...

ALso I had modified the search.xml file in content_center/customer_src... I had got rid of some things I did not want my clients searching on in advance section.. so I had to update that as well.

I guess they didn't bother to fix the script as I suggested - by changing the line that says: my $src_dir = ".";to be: my $src_dir = "$local_config_lib/content_center/customer_src";Alas, such is life ...

I just wanted to throw the question out again.

Has anyone else run into any issues with install SP 1 for 6.5 on solaris 8?

We're about to look into it.

John Cuiuli

nipper

Johnny, the only issues I had with a 6.5 upgrade (all the way to SP1) was
that I needed to uninstall OD then install TS.

That is on Solaris 8.

What is happening ?

Johnny

Thanks for the tips

oh nothing is happening... we have 6.5 installed fine with OD 6.0.1.
We are going into production tomorrow.

We didn't include SP 1 because it was too late for us.

So I'm just looking to hear if there have been any gotcha's with SP 1. We haven't looked at it ourselves yet.

Let the fools rush in! Smiley Happy

Johnny,

We just installed TS 6.5 SP1 on Solaris 8 and can no longer login to the UI with our LDAP users. We're getting the following error in the logs: /opt/iw-home/CSF/AccessService/conf/iwauthen.cfg: No such file or directory.

Can't find anything online or in the docs referencing this file, so we've opened a case.

Johnny

I think I've read some recent posts in the OpenDeploy forum regarding that file.

Nipper has been on the case as well. I wonder if he is on SP1 - I think he is from previous posts.

John Cuiuli

Johnny

Is there a required update/SP for CSF/AccessService as well?

Maybe SP1 requires something on that end... haven't read anything - just a guess

John Cuiuli

abyrd

There are some posts on the OD forum, but no resolution.

I don't think there's a required upgrade to CSF. However, IWOV just released OD 6.0.2 which includes CSF (instead of having a separate install). We upgraded that too and it didn't work initially, so we uninstalled everything and reinstalled. Now OD works fine. We're trying to avoid having to reinstall TS, though.
