Has anyone tried Mambo intergrated with TeamSite? or considered it instead of teamsite?
Anyone converted from Mambo to Teamsite?

I've used Mambo and I think it's a very nice product... but why or how would you use it with TeamSite? Wait, lemme not overshadow my first question... WHY would you use it with TS? Just curious...
Current Environment(s):
(1) TS 6.1 SP1 on W2K3
(2) TS 6.1 SP2 on W2K
(3) TS 6.1 on W2K

Ok maybe you would use it instead of TeamSite. Is it a replacement? Or just good for some situations. I wonder if Mambo will become the mysql of cms.

I think I can see it more as a replacement of TS. I can't say that I've used it to an extend that I've extended the functionality far beyond what comes out of the box, but it would seem trite for me to say that it's not as feature-rich as TS. But hey, the price tag is much better, now isn't it??
I've set up a few or more customers with Mambo and others with less-famed open source CMS's. I think this type of freeware is very suitable for many organizations, but the one place where these product typically lack is support.

Have you ever looked at quantumart qp7 platform and what it offers compared to what teamsite offers?

I have to plead ignorance and say that I hadn't heard of it before you mentioned it. So, I checked it out. It seems to do many of the same processes as Teamsite and OpenDeploy so I guess I see it as an alternative instead of a supplement. I wonder what their support model is like and what their prevailing development language is.
Thanks for the education, though!

I liked there visual workflow tool. It's more worksite like then teamsite. I got a demo the other day, and it's impressive. They sucked in a site, and showed me how you can edit right in place. They use a database in the background to store information instead of a filesystem.
The product demo's well. Have not tried it with tons of data. They list Ektron, red ? and a few other companoies as competitors. Interwoven was not a main competitor.

I'm figuring that until they start charging $500K + for licensing and until they have the numbers and case studies that Interwoven has, they won't be comparing themselves to them. By saying that, I'm not at all putting down the other company, I'm actually quite interested in learning more about it now.
Thanks!
