Can the DCR open without a full browser (6.5)
Mr_G
Hi All,
Can the DCR open in a pop-up window, not on a full browser (similar to when editing DCR)
Platform: W2K
TeamSite: 6.5
Regards
Ali

What is your interest, exactly? Are you trying to make it so that the window does not have certain attributes, i.e. toolbar, location bar, etc.?

Basically, I want to get rid off all the browser attributes as you mentioned if I can (same as when editing DCR).
Thnx

I'm not saying that this is the best solution, but it's an idea...
Currently, Javascript does not allow the facility for a window to take away its own toolbar, etc. Just that of a spawned window... I spent a couple of hours trying to do this a few weeks ago and found out that I was wasting my time!
In your PT, you could have some logic to determine if the template is being used in a preview context (
if iwpt_get_flag_param('-oprefix') eq 'preview' ...
), and if so, have it spawn a child window with minimal attributes that actually displays the formatted DCR. Once loading, you can then close the parent window.
Like I said, it's very likely not the best solution but it's an idea!

Thanks, I will try that then.

Sorry, I was doing a little more research and it seems that a window CAN hide these items in itself, but this only works for Netscape. I assume the fact that this is Netscape-specific does not suit your needs?
