TeamSite import file "stuck"
mannyroble
Just an a minor FYI, but this just happened to one of our users. We are currently on TeamSite 6.5 SP1.
The user was trying to import a file so she clicked on Import and selected My Computer on the drop down to go to the top most level. She selected a drive and clicked Add. She then realized she did not want to import the whole drive so she cancelled out. When she clicked on Import again the drop down only had My Computer as the selection and the available drives that used to be listed was blank.
Of course she couldn't get out of it at all. I managed to recreate the problem a couple of times on my own desktop, but not with any consistency. The only thing I could do was to have the user delete her cookies and that got the Import facility unstuck again.
Just another weird quirk...

Whats your client browser ? JRE version ? OS ?
Dose this happen for one particular combination of the above ?
(just wondering if this happens in general or for some particular browser/JRE version/OS)

On TeamSite Server:
The JRE version is 1.4_06
OS is Windows 2003 Enterprise
It was weird indeed because no matter where else I clicked or what I did within TeamSite, whenever I click on Import I was stuck in the same place. I even logged out and closed the browser, then logged back in again and it was still "stuck". I couldn't import anything until I killed the cookie.
All the users at our site are on Windows 2003 for their desktopswith IE 6.0.28 - not sure what JRE they would have. I'm on Windows XP Pro with IE 6.0.29 JRE 1.4.2_04.
Haven't been able to recreate on Firefox.

I think this
probably
has something to do with the JRE/browser/OS combination or some windows security settings.
I have consistently observed similar behaviour with Windows 2003, IE 6.0.2800, Sun JRE 1.5.0, while accessing certain applets (not just import), and even non-TS applets in general.
