cannot login to admin UI after changing host name

TeamSite 6.1 SP1 on Windows 2000 Server SP4
I recently had to change the network name of a box hosting the above environment. In order to make sure TeamSite recognized the new name, I changed every reference to the hostname in iw.cfg to the new one, and also generated and applied a new TeamSite license key.
After applying all changes and rebooting, I cannot login to the admin interface. I get an "Invalid login" message; however I know the the username, domain, and password are valid because I can login to ContentCenter as master using the same account with no problem. iwckrole confirms this account is valid for the master role as well. Same results for both local and domain administrator accounts.
Any ideas as to what might cause this?
