New document default doesn't hold setting
JulesB
We're running DeskSite 6.6. Everyone sets their own default profile for new documents - but I'm finding that for some users, the values they set for the Doc Class field doesn't hold. I can't recreate the problem in testing. Has anyone come across this before, and if so did you find a fix? I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Do you have any customised macro or script to that clear doc class ?
JulesB
No we don't - and although all users are on standard build machines and all have same basic user rights in Worksite, only some of them have this problem.

Doc class, is the only field you set in new document defaut ?
If it is. you may need to check to ensure they have rights to add to the hkey_current_user in the windows registry.

Users can set any or all of the fields that they want to, but it's only the doc class field that isn't holding the value they've chosen. All other fields display with the user's default value in; only the doc class field displays blank.
I'll compare the reg. keys from a user whose default profile settings hold with one that doesn't, just in case anything's different.

Just checked the registry settings for a user whose document default doesn't hold, and compared it with mine, which does.
Under HKCU\Software\Netright\iManage\iManExt\DefaultNewProfile, we both have exactly the same values:
382 - containing the Author ID
384 - containing the document class (set to 'office' for both users).
When I create a new document the profile shows the Author ID and the Doc. Class I have set in my default. The other user's profile shows the Author ID as set in the default, but the Doc. Class field is still blank.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
