Trap replicant insert

Hi,
Does any one knows how to trap an insert of replicant through formAPI? What I want to achieve is make one of the field invisible on the insert of that replicant and based on some selection from drop down, make it visible. Since this text field is part of replicant which by default is 0, so could not be trapped by any other event.

Saw some comments about this event is available in teamsite 6.5, but I am uisng 6.1 can anything be done?

If there is any other way of making that invisible I would be glad to know.

Is the drop-down that would be used to make it visible part of the replicant itself (a 1:1 relationship)? or something more global?

If it's part of the replicant, I believe you could define the field as 'hidden' in the DCT so that it would always start out invisible and then add an event handler on the drop-down using the generic path (e.g., no [0], [1], etc) and have the function called on the event retrieve the actual path of the field that triggered it, modify the path to point to the hidden field and then do a setVisible() on the item to which the new path refers.

Tried that but if we set the field as 'hidden' then setVisible() does not seems to work on it..

Here is the code..

I'm not sure if '..' notation works in xpaths like this - you may need to replace the last element with "MinRequire" instead.
I'm also not sure about the contents within the parens of setVisible() - it might be better to do that as a separate code line and follow it with an alert (for debugging) to make sure its getting the correct value.
Lastly, I think you need to do an IWDatacapture.redraw() or IWDatacapture.redrawLabels() after making the change.
(Hmm - the 6.5 SP1 version of the FormAPI manual no longer contains either of these functions ... I wonder if they're no longer present?)

The mentioned peice of code is wroking fine for the way current functionality works. That is we display 2 text fields of min and max number and then when the user select any other type of validation from the drop down these fields become inVisible.

I doubt that we can make a hidden field visible through any means. I have gone through the documentation for formAPI and could not find anything which suggest that once made the field hidden we can make it visible. Atleast nothing in 6.1
