Getting ChildList of custom1/client or custom29

Hello,

I've been trying to get the sublist of the clients/practices. For each client, I want to be able to retrieve it's matters. However, when I use getChildList on a Client or Practice, it returns ALL of the fields that are under Matter or Subpractice respectively. How do I get a list of Matters that only pertain to a specific Client? Any help will be much appreciated!!

i resolved my own problem... just in case anyone will come across this problem:
