Importing Word Documents with Graphics

Does anyone have a good solution for automatically or manually importing data from Word documents into a CMS, especially documents containing a number of graphics (for instance a tool that would automatically generate image files and encode the content so that it can be parsed as XML or HTML)?

I saw/developed/architected a number of solutions .. I would not give a definite answer.. as you would imagine it will depend on the structure of dicuments/their format.. output requirements....
