Cannot access login page

I've installed TeamSite 6.0.01 on MS 2000 server (Service Pack 3) and can't access the ContentCenter GUI using http://server_hostname/iw-cc.

I can access it if I put the servlet engine port (8080) in the URL.

Any ideas? This is my first attempt at TeamSite.. Thanks!

Did you configure IIS ? Or allow TS to configure IIS ?

What is on port 80 ?

go to http://server:80/

Whats listening on port 80 ?
What port have you used for iw-webd ?

I let TS configure IIS.

When I go to http://server:80/, I get "Page cannot be displayed"

I accepted all the default settings from TS.

After the system was rebooted, did you see a button pop up about
TS finishing the configuration ?

You may need to re-run tspostreboot

TeamSite didn't complain about any errors after the install.

However, checking the logs in event viewer, I got this error (I don't know if this is related):

The Interwoven Proxy service hung on starting.
The Interwoven Proxy service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 2 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action.

I then ran 'iwproxy -d' and got this message:

Can't access the session key file. Make sure you run iwproxy as root or a local administrator.
You may also need to run iw-home/bin/iwsessionkeygen to create the session key file.

I ran 'iw-home/bin/iwsessionkeygen'..

what happens on an iw-reset -a ?

Yes, I am..

I ran iwreset -a and it didn't help. I still have no access to the login page.

Open a support ticket.

What port is IIS running on ? Should be specified in iw.cfg,
likely port 81, check it:

http://server:81/

any errors in servletd.log ?

proxy problems won't affect login,

You may need to rerun tsposreboot.ipl

also, find iw-home/install.tspostreboot.txt and post it.

IIS is on 81. I also get a 'page cannot be displayed' error.

I narrowed it down - the web daemon is not running.
How do you enable it? Thanks..

Should start automatically on reboot.

Try starting it from control panel -> services.

However if it dies then you need to peruse the log files as to why

There may be something hanging on the port it wants to use

Are there any other IW services not running ?

These are the services that I have:

Interwoven Event Subsystem
Interwoven OpenAPI Service
Interwoven Proxy
Interwoven Servlet Engine
Interwoven TeamSite

I don't see Web Daemon.
Also, Event Subsystem does not automatically start.

Maybe your installation had some errors and it did not install the web daemon service. Did you look at the install logs ?
Do you see iw-webd directory under iw-home. Does it have anything ?

BTW, you looks like you are just getting started with TS. So why use 6.0 when theres 6.5 available ?

Yes, iw-webd folder exists under iw-home and is not empty. It contains the iwwebd executable. But how do you install the service?
Everything in the logs looks ok.

I'd suggest un-installing everything and starting over again - probably with 6.5 - but in either case...

You do not have a service named Interwoven Web Daemon ?

Something is certainly amiss with your install. May need to rerun the install,
but post the install log as well.

I've rerun the install several times already but still get the same result.
No, the Interwoven Web Daemon service does not exist..

I broke up the log file into 2 files.. Here is the first one

Are you doing the install as the local Administrator on the machine (not someone who has administrative rights - the actual local Administrator account)?
Have you tried re-downloading the installer from Support? Perhaps you got a bad installer?

The 2nd part contains the following:
[Wed Apr 20 14:44:08 2005] [error] Service "iwwebd" is already installed!
256 at C:\iw-home/iw-webd/bin/iwwebd_conf.ipl line 226.
256 at C:\iw-home\install\install_iwwebd.ipl line 63.

So it looks like iwwebd got installed - but from your reports something didn't work right -- I'd suggest downloading a fresh copy of the installer (perhaps 6.5 instead - might as well upgrade while you're stuck) and start over again.
