Error ingesting PICT files

Hi,

We seem to be having trouble ingesting "PICT" files into MediaBin. The error log has the following entry corresponding to the ingestion.

04/20/05 15:18:02 ERROR: QuickTime Decoder::run() RC = The operation failed. Check the log output for details

Has any one come across this behaviour? We are unable to log into the enterprise manager appliciation or the native client when we try and ingest a bunch of such images.

Did you poke around for a log file? the error indicates there probably is a record of the problem in it...

I am not sure which log files are to be looked into. I have looked through all the log files in the main "Logs" folder of the MediaBin Installation folder and I dont find any erranous entries other than the one in the MBP.log. The event viewer doesnot show any errors likewise. I have been trying to recreate the problem on other servers, but little success. The ingestion seems to be going on successfully on the dev box. The environments are identical as far as I know.

Apologies for the "read the logs" message. Since this message actually appears in the MBP.log it always leaves everyone asking this exact question. I am afraid that this is likely to be all the ifnormation available. The only other place to look is the job history log wit the message returned by that specific job.

I do not know of a generic problem with pict files as I know we have encountered them in the past. Please contact support so we can get the specific files that have been causing problems and diagnose what might be going wrong in your specific case.
