Teamsite 6.5 (no SP)
Has anyone ever had authentication problems with NIS+?
We have gone into production with 6.5 and are seeing some strange issues.
I saw this
post in support, though it looks quite old.
When we first installed 6.5, we couldn't authenticate using the regular configuration in iw.cfg
[authentication]
authenticate_by=local
I commented out the line so that the authentication section had no settings and we could log in.
Our NIS+ settings in /etc/nsswitch.conf are
passwd: files nisplus
group: files nisplus
Note: the support article lists nis, not nisplus. I'm assuming they didn't explicitly give an example for NIS+
The problem we see now is that for some users (it appears to be after a certain time duration) cannot log in the morning. If they SSH into the machine with the same user/password and then go back to the teamsite log in screen it works.
I really can't figure this one out.
