OD Feature request 34694

Hi,

I understand from product management that there is an open feature request (34694)
which will provide "user authentication on the receiver asking that user credentials be
transferred along with the OD deployment job and used to enforce policies, like directory
access or DNR invocations."

Does anyone know who opened this FR ? A search of the support site and devnet
returns nothing except in a thread I started. I'd like to see the full text of the feature
request if it's not company internal.

Which version of OD are you using on which platform(s)?

6.0.2 [on Solaris at least] comes with command-line "authentication" of a sort that requires users be registered for deployments before they're allowed to run one (this is on the Base Server) - I'm not sure about the Receivers and I'm not sure at all about how this works (if at all) on Windows.

They actually put out a patch for 6.0.2 already that provides the ability to disable this functionality (backwards compatibility / ease of maintenance).

Perhaps someone else can comment on the details of FR 34694 - but if you proivde the version and platform information it will probably make it easier for someone to provide relevant information.
