Task Properties (change owner)

Is there an action I can trap when someone changes the properties on a workflow? The group I'm with wants to use a group task, but have that go to a common email.

Then whoever's on call will open the task properties, and change the name of the owner. I think eventually I will try to provide a gui element to do this, For now I'm thinking of looking for the switch (somehow) and when it changes owner email the specific person who's name is typed into the owner.

The event I guess I'd look for is the save of the task, but again just seeing what can be done.

I may simply add a jsp to the action's menu for a task called (assign owner) and then I can have that send the email.

Anyway thoughts...

Have you thought about having a cgitask that the support person can select the owner of the task. The cgitask would set the owner of the task and notify the person and then transition to the task. Or, the cgitask could just set the owner and transition to an externaltask that sends the email and then that could transition to the task. Just a though.
